Beitillu Nature Reserve Masterplan

As part of our EU Partnership for Peace project, an international expert created a masterplan for a Nature Reserve in Palestine. The Nature Reserve of Beitillu was declared as such already in the Oslo agreement, as were many other reserves in Palestine.

Unfortunately, this is where the conservation and maintenance of the reserves stopped. Not much has been done in order to keep the reserves protected, clean and accessible in a sustainable way for visitors. The new created management plan shows possibilities how to protect the area but also how to develop it for visitors to enjoy the reserve in a sustainable and mind opening way. A step by step plan for the coming years is suggested and includes hiking trails, permanent picnic areas as well as information signs about the local flora and fauna. The recommendations made in the plan are based mainly on data that has been collected and analyzed earlier in the project. We hope the plan will be accepted and implemented by competent authorities and are looking forward to fully protected and well-maintained Nature Reserves.
