Launching an Israeli-German Teachers Mutual Delegation

Teachers are the educational system engine; they play a crucial role in shaping the personality of their students, as they are the conduit to passing knowledge, skills, and experience. Their role is to build the future generation, those who will lead the development and prosperity of their communities, and address their social and economic challenges.

As part of this unique project, Israeli and German high school teachers will be visiting each others’ classrooms for mutual learning, establishing a teachers’ network, exchanging thoughts, ideas, educational expertise, and more.

In the last few days we have experienced some eye-opening discussions with experts in the educational field. We have identified similarities and differences in the Israeli-German education systems, cultural and social perspectives, and historical baggage.

We, at the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Jerusalem, would like to thank our partners at the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Culture, Faculty of Education - the University of Haifa, Hareali School in Haifa, Josef-Effner-Gymnasium in Dachau, and the teachers and pupils who are open to learning.
